PROTESTS AGAINST KAVANAUGH | Is Eight Really Enough? | New RBG Podcast
August 27, 2018
HEY HEY HO HO
|Over the weekend, folks rallied across the country in protest of the nomination of JUDGE BRETT KAVANAUGH to the Supreme Court. In San Francisco and Seattle, protesters called for the protection of Roe v. Wade and demanded lawmakers put a stop to the nomination.
TELL ME WHO YOU'RE LOYAL TO
|“If BRETT KAVANAUGH cares about the legitimacy of the Supreme Court, he must demand that his nomination be delayed immediately.” Jason Sattler opines in USA Today that if Kavanaugh gets onto the court, it could do permanent damage to the institution. He writes, “Kavanaugh knows he was chosen to not only end Roe but to help save Trump. If he goes along with this plot against America, it will not only draw the entire nation to the question of the court’s legitimacy, it will signal that now everything is permitted.”
AN EVEN EIGHT
|In The Boston Globe Sarah Bilder argues “eight is enough” for the U.S. Supreme Court. If memory serves, this is an argument all too similar to the one made when Republicans blocked the nomination of JUDGE MERRICK GARLAND.
PODCAST DU JOUR
|On the latest First Mondays podcast, WILL BAUDE is on to talk about the latest nomination news. The real meaning of “originalism” is also discussed.
POD SAVE SCOTUS

Toobin also previews his new podcast — “RBG: Beyond Notorious” — which focuses on the life of JUSTICE RUTH BADER GINSBURG as an advocate, a jurist and now a cultural phenomenon.
